If you are a Registered member or a Verified member then follow these instructions.
Please read everything before posting your upload.
1. INTRODUCTION
The prefered way to check for viruses is to use the online service VirusTotal. This is because VirusTotal checks each file with many different anti-virus apps.
Also, for people with a VirusTotal account, it gives lots of useful information about the scanned files.
If your upload is single file then upload it to VirusTotal. Then include the link to the scan result in your post.
If your upload is too big for VirusTotal then see "LARGE FILES" below.
If your upload contains more than one file then see "MULTI FILE UPLOADS" below.
If your upload is an ISO file then see "ISO FILES" below.
If your upload is an archive (zip, rar, 7z etc) that includes an ISO file then see "ISO FILES" below.
2. LARGE FILES
If you need to check a file that is too big for VirusTotal then use whatever anti-virus app you have installed on your PC or laptop.
Start by extracting everything to a folder and then virus check the whole folder, including sub folders.
Include the scan results in your post as described in "SHOWING LOCAL ANTI-VIRUS SCAN RESULTS" below.
3. MULTI FILE UPLOADS
If you have small number of files then you can upload each one to Virustotal and include all the Virustotal links in your post.
It may be more convenient to put all your files into an archive (zip, rar, or 7z) and submit the archive to Virustotal.
If you have too many files for Virustotal then use your local anti-virus app.
When using your local anti-virus app, start by extracting everything to a folder and then virus check the whole folder, including sub folders.
Include the scan results in your post as described in "SHOWING LOCAL ANTI-VIRUS SCAN RESULTS" below.
4. ISO FILES
If your upload is an ISO file then do not use VirusTotal. VirusTotal does not scan inside ISO files.
If your upload includes an ISO file inside an archive (zip, rar, 7z etc) then do not use VirusTotal.
Check your ISO using whatever anti-virus app you have installed on your PC or laptop, like this:
* Mount or extract the ISO.
* Scan the entire mounted volume with your installed anti-virus app.
* Include the scan results in your post as described in "SHOWING LOCAL ANTI-VIRUS SCAN RESULTS" below.
5. SHOWING LOCAL ANTI-VIRUS SCAN RESULTS
Unfortunately many anti-virus apps do not show filenames in the scan result so, in your thread description, describe what checking you did like this
* If you get no warnings say something like this:
* If you get warnings then say something like:
