Astra Linux is a Russian Linux OS, developed to meet the needs of the Russian army, other armed forces, intelligence agencies and news reporters.
This Debian based Linux operating system provides high data protection, privacy and easy to use interface.
It has been officially certified by Russian Defense Ministry, Federal Service for Technical and Export Control and Federal Security Service.
This OS was divided into two versions..
You can look at it like choosing between the Red and Blue Pill (yes, it's a Matrix reference)
Common Edition (Free) - It solves the general purpose Tasks, gives you basic privacy and security protection, let you choose between Server and User Mode, comes with a lot of useful software.
Special Edition (Paid) - Provides advanced security features..

Format: Bootable iso file
Extra: Contains a developer iso file with bunch of software
Installation:
1. Burn the smolensk-1.6 net install .iso file via Rufus on USB or burn it on a DVD
2. boot into your device
3. Change the language (optional)
4. Use Graphical install
5. If asked for a key, type this in: E329-U4!%W-KRS/32-44
NOTE:
I modified the installer in order to bypass the serial verification which is asked during the install..
Don't know how reliable my modification is but the serial code above should work and give you the Error x0.382 before trowing you to the disk format options.
I only managed to test it on a VM and very old Asus EeePC but I can say, that the distro is safe to update.
It is normal, that during the GRUB installation the installer will hang or crash. Don't reboot your PC! It will reboot automatically.
This hang/crash issue is caused because of the license check Medicines, which I applied. It could be done more professional but I'm just the friendly PC repair guy from your neighborhood and not an Russian hacker, who wears a mask 24/7 and listens to "Sun Project- Luna" while doing some terminal magic
