This method has been working for me ... until yesterday, when they started nagging againi did my fix and stopped the license pop out issue as follow
1. Close Autocad 2024
2. Open notepad as Administrator
3. Open hosts file located in (C:/Windows/System32/Drivers/rtc/hosts note: show all files the see the hosts file
4. Add line below the text and type 127.0.0.1 genuine-software2.autodesk.com
5. Save and Close
Found a potential solution on youtube...haven't tested myself yet. Aparently renaming
C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft\EdgeWebView\Application\117.0.2045.36\msedgewebview2.exe (I suppose blocking would also work)
solves the license issue, but causes crash when closing Autocad 2024...Feel free to give feedback...I'll try during the week and report also.
Never blocked Autocad in hosts, no need for that... Follow instructions, and you will be fine. Do clean uninstall and install it again after restarting sistem. I am using this one since first version 2024. If you need some tips, fill free to dm me. Ill tip.So I figured out that this was working just fine, I mean blocking both incoming/outgoing connections in Windows firewall settings ...
It stopped working after Microsoft "sneakily" installed 118 version ... blocked those instead, working again, stopped working few days ago again, found out version 119 got installed, blocked, working again
I believe you can see the pattern
The "edit host file" method doesn't seem to work anymore at all.
I hope I can fin the way to block this Edge View 2 in firewall alltogether, I mean as a whole, so in case any new version got installed, firewall will block it automatically.
Seems like Microsoft updates this quite frequently, so having to manually block it each time is not so convenient
